How do I know if my meat is done?

While I highly suggest you purchase a meat thermometer to add to your collection of kitchen gadgets, there is a fool proof way to test your meat without ever having to slice into it! Stretch out your left hand so that it is flat. Using your right hand ring finger (the finger that usually has the lightest touch) gently press the cushy part of your left hand where your thumb meets your palm forming a rough “L” shape. If you touch your cut of meat and it feels similar to this part of your hand, the meat is rare. As you move diagonally from this spot towards the center of your wrist you’ll move from rare to medium to well done. I use this trick all the time and it has not failed me yet! (Plus it makes you look like an expert chef in front of friends and family).
